A kind invitation to all club members to join one of our Masters swimmers, Angus Whitfield, for cycling training to complement your training in the pool - particularly those interested in taking part in Triathlon events. To register your interest please email enquiries@didcotbarramundi.com

Dear All,

For anyone I don't know, let me introduce myself - my name is Angus & I'm one of the club's masters swimmers. I come from a triathlon background & have been training as a cycle coach with British Cycling.

I am now qualified to coach cycling to groups of any age/ability in a traffic-free environment.

Since I've got so much benefit & enjoyment from swimming with the club, I thought I'd try and put something back in.

I am keen to offer cycle coaching sessions to help develop the skills of any club members that are planning to race triathlons this year - (drafting & non-drafting). The aim would be to develop and improve bike handling & core cycling techniques to give a competitive advantage on the bike leg of races.

I am fully insured as a coach to the tune of £5million through British Cycling, I have and enhanced DBS check & am First Aid qualified (actually, I'm a GP)

At this stage, I'm trying to get a feel for interest/demand so that I plan how many sessions to run & look at appropriate venues. Any of the masters crowd are obviously welcome too!

I suspect we'll be starting around end of April to beginning of May, but could do some sessions sooner if demand is high.

Also, if anyone knows of a large traffic free asphalt area (such as a big car park) that will be empty evenings &/or weekends, could you let me know!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Angus.
