Eleven Barramundi swimmers qualified for the Oxfordshire and North Bucks County distance swimming events held at Bletchley and Aylesbury over the last 2 weekends – an impressive turnout for such a small club.

The team consisted of:

Back row left to right: Danny Amphlett (18), Ben Titchener (12), Ollie Beard (16), Bethan Newland-Smith (17), Nick Sims (14)

Front Row left to right: Michael Fabes (17), Chris Sims (12), Ben Newell (12), Isabelle Langley (12), Maddison Langley (10), Alfie Baum (13)

Michael Fabes, who represents Great Britain for Aquathlon, made an impressive come-back, having missed several months of training last year with a broken foot. He managed to knock an astonishing 13 seconds off his 400m IM time, 12 seconds off his 1500m freestyle time and 5 seconds off his 400m freestyle time.

Other personal bests were achieved by Maddison Langley (400m free), Ben Newell (400m free and 400m IM), Ben Titchener (400m free), Alfie Baum (400m free), Chris Sims (400m IM) and Nick Sims (400m IM).

Finalists medals were awarded to: Chris Sims (4th – 400m IM), Ben Newell (5th – 400m IM), Ben Titchener (5th – 400m free), Maddison Langley (7th – 400m free) and Nick Sims (7th – 400m IM).
