Great Success at Aldershot

On the weekend Saturday 12th-Sunday 13th of January a group of Barramundi Swimmers travelled to the Aldershot Garrison 50m pool for The Rushmoor Royals New Year Meet 2013.
This group consisted of Freddie Wilkinson, Andrew Southam, Tarien Van Merwe, Bethan Newland-Smith, Finnley Clark, Ollie Mew, Toby Mew, Molly Sexton, Bethany Hickton-Collins,  Jay Hope, Chris Sims, Toby Mew, Hannah Mott, Steph Mott, Charlotte Folkmen, Thomas Folkmen, Jack Mason, Freya Cooke, Oliver Beard, Nicholas Sims, Isabelle Langley, Alice Bracher and Alec Purvis.
This Aldershot gala was the first gala of 2013 and last chance for many to get county times. It is also a 50metre pool which is double the ‘normal’ 25m pool and many of the younger children had never experienced this before. But despite the hard competition Didcot Barramundi triumphed with personal bests (pbs) and medals all around and many getting well deserved county (and in some cases regional) times. To get county times in a 50m pool was a great success and the whole of the group threw themselves at this gala trying events they had never done before. They represented the club perfectly being well behaved and there was an amazing club moral with everyone helping each other.
